Spanish is the official language of over 20 countries and is spoken by 400 million people around the globe. Interpreters looking to add up a language to their Cs can benefit from the fact that international organizations use Spanish as one of their official and working languages and offer competitive examinations where Spanish C is required. In the private market, Spanish is widely used for business and in entertainment.
This one-day course is aimed to present participants an opportunity to hone their interpreting skills from Spanish into their A or B languages. This training has an emphasis in Spanish varieties used in Latin America.

  • Past & present of the Spanish language
  • World Tour around the regional variations of Spanish
  • Institutional & technical Spanish
  • Main roadblocks when interpreting from Spanish C (grammatical, cultural, metalinguistic)
  • Register variation drills
  • Interpreting drills from Spanish into your A or B language
  • Useful resources & tips for keeping your Spanish C up to speed when living in a non-Spanish speaking country

Language & Feedback: This course will be delivered in Spanish. The trainer will provide feedback in the following language specific combinations: Spanish into English, Spanish into French. Feedback for other language combinations will be general and non- language specific. If more speakers of your language join the course peer feedback will be used.
